COURTHOUSE FLAG

Local citizens and organizations are asked to help in raising funds for a new American Flag to be displayed at the Chattooga County Courthouse during patriotic events.  The former flag has not been usable for months.

Donation checks or cash may be left in Commissioner Blake Elsberry’s office, Tax Commissioner Joy Hampton, or Sheriff Mark Schrader’s office.  Please include the name, address, and amount on all donations.  Checks should be made to Chattooga County Commissioner Flag Account.  Donations may be mailed to the attention of Martha Tucker P.O. Box 211 Summerville, GA 30747.

The flag will be in charge of the county to be displayed for patriotic and historic events.  The local VFW Post 6688, Odell Anderson, and Barbara Reece are assisting in  the project.  Plans are to have the flag purchased and ready to display this coming Memorial Day May 31.

“All donations, large or small, are appreciated.  Local citizens were so proud of our community and national heritage when the former flag was displayed at the Courthouse. Please join us in renewing this tradition,” Barbara Reece stated.
