Chattooga’s Athletic Event Guidelines

After consulting with the Department of Public Health and considering recommendations from the GHSA regarding athletic events, Chattooga High School has decided to proceed with the following plan according to Athletic Director, Jeremy Heathcock. 

After consulting with the Department of Public Health and considering recommendations from the GHSA regarding athletic events, Chattooga High School has decided to proceed with the following plan according to Athletic Director, Jeremy Heathcock.

Outdoor Events:

-Spectators will be encouraged to practice social distancing and to wear masks.
-There will be multiple sanitation stations available throughout each venue.
-Concession offerings will be comprised only of pre-packaged goods.
-Those working concession stands will be required to wear masks and gloves while
serving.
-Sanitation supplies will be readily available and frequently used by concession
workers inside concession area.
-Enhanced cleaning of venue will be performed following each event to ensure
sanitation for subsequent events.
-GHSA guidelines regarding players and officials’ safety will be followed during each
event.

* Guidelines regarding other outdoor activities including football will be
released at a later date.

Indoor Events:

-Spectators will be encouraged to practice social distancing.
-Spectators will be encouraged to wear masks. Masks will be made available to
spectators if they do not have their own.
– There will be multiple sanitation stations available throughout each venue.
-Concession offerings will be comprised only of pre-packaged goods.
-Those working concession stands will be required to wear masks and gloves while
serving.
-Sanitation supplies will be readily available and frequently used by concession
workers inside concession area.
-Enhanced cleaning of venue will be performed following each event to ensure
sanitation for subsequent events.
-GHSA guidelines regarding player and officials safety will be followed during each
event.

These guidelines are subject to change at any time as the school district continues to receive updated information from public health officials and the GHSA.
