Chattooga County Schools to offer Meal Delivery

Meals may be delivered by bus, van, SUV or truck. Please be watching for either a school bus or another vehicle, which will be clearly marked with an official Chattooga County Schools emblem.

The Chattooga County School District recognizes that many students are without transportation to pick up meals at our schools’ drive-thru locations. Therefore, starting this week on Tuesday, March 24th, 2020, and again on Thursday, March 26th, 2020, we will be delivering meals to all bus routes in Chattooga County. Meals may be delivered by bus, van, SUV or truck. Please be watching for either a school bus or another vehicle, which will be clearly marked with an official Chattooga County Schools emblem. Please be at your usual bus stop between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Please be patient with us if we experience some unforeseen delays in our schedule, as this is a new experience for all of us. Pick-up meals will continue to be available at each school from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon daily.

A breakfast and a lunch will be given to anyone 18 years of age or under, at each bus stop. If you do not normally ride a bus but would like to receive delivered meals, simply meet at the bus stop closest to your home. We will add stops as much as possible within our schedule and route. Please DO NOT gather and wait in large clusters of more than 10 people. You must keep the 6 feet distance between you and others around you, as requested by our Governor and health officials.  THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!

Bus stops that do not follow these guidelines may be dropped from the delivery route.

For safety reasons, we may not include milk in the delivered meals. Hot lunches should be eaten within 4 hours. However, the breakfast meal provided will be shelf-stable and may be kept for later.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation in this time of uncertainty.

” Fear comes from a place of uncertainty and self-doubt, while courage rises above fear to a place of determination and focus. Choose today to be courageous even in the most difficult and uncertain times.”– Jason Carthen
