Ambrocio inks with Georgia Military College

On May 15th, THS senior Henry Ambrocio signed to play soccer at and attend Georgia Military College next fall.

Henry played soccer this year at Trion High School and also has played at Darlington School Soccer Academy on a travel team for three years.

Coach David Sexton from Georgia Military College, located in Milledgeville, GA, was interested in having him play for their team when he saw him play at the ACS showcase. Coach Sexton asked Henry to try out for the team and attend the team’s ID camp. After that, the coach offered him a spot on his team, and Henry gladly accepted it.

After talking with GMC’s coach, Henry said he was inspired by Coach David Sexton and his father, Dave Sexton, who played pro at Westham United and coached Chelsea F.C., Manchester United and England’s U-21 team.

Henry is looking forward to playing soccer after high school,“I’m excited and can’t wait to go see what Georgia Military has to offer me in the future.”

According to Trion’s soccer coach, John Chance, “Henry has developed a really good game in soccer and plays with determination on the field.  His quickness and skill with the ball help to keep opponents off balance.  He wants to score and works toward breaking down the opponents’ defenses. “

Henry had 9 goals for this season and 5 assists for the Trion Bulldogs. Coach Chance said that Henry shows that he enjoys soccer and he can continue to establish a  game that will help his team. “His dedication to and love for the  game of soccer can potentially translate into a lifelong contribution to and enjoyment of the sport of soccer,” says Coach Chance.
