How did Wayne County vote on Super Tuesday?

Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp reported that Tuesday’s voter turnout numbers exceeded previous records with a whopping 1.28 million Republicans casting their ballots and an additional 740,000 Democrats taking to the polls.

But how did Wayne County vote?

Though several of the candidates had dropped out prior to Election Day, several of them still pulled in votes around Wayne County. A total of 4,447 Republicans turned out with 956 Democrats.

REPUBLICAN

  • Donald Trump – 2,033 votes  (45.72%)
  • Ted Cruz – 1,159 votes (26.06%)
  • Marco Rubio – 665 votes (14.95%)
  • Dr. Ben Carson – 335 votes (7.53%)
  • John Kasich – 165 votes (3.71%)
  • Jeb Bush – 42 votes  (0.94%)
  • Rand Paul – 13 votes  (<1%)
  • Mike Huckabee – 18 votes  (<1%)
  • Chris Christie – 5 votes  (<1%)
  • Carly Fiorina – 2 votes  (<1%)
  • Lindsay Graham – 6 votes  (<1%)
  • Georgia Pataki – 2 votes (<1%)
  • Rick Santorum – 2 votes  (<1%)

DEMOCRAT

  • Hillary Clinton – 700 votes – (73.22%)
  • Bernie Sanders – 236 – (24.69%)
  • Martin O’Malley – 7 – (.73%)
  • Michael Steinberg – 13 (1.36%)

Of the above totals, 135 Wayne county residents voted by absentee ballot and 1,005 voted early in person.
