Recovering student continues to make news

Montravious Thomas, the 13-year-old seventh grader who lost his leg after a controversial incident in a Muscogee County classroom last month, continues to make news.

Daniel Wilkerson of CBS46 filed a compelling story that appeared on local television newscasts in Atlanta on Monday. Wilkerson’s story includes exclusive video that first first accompanied an All on Georgia-Muscogee report on Sunday.

The video offers hints of what happened in the halls of the Edgewood Student Service Center in Columbus on Sept. 12 — moments after Thomas was injured during a classroom struggle with behavior specialist Bryant Mosley.

Thomas has been hospitalized at Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta for more than a month. His lawyer says he will be there for at least another month undergoing treatment and extensive physical therapy

News of the tragic incident first appeared on All On Georgia-Muscogee on Oct. 13. Return to this site every day for updates on an important story that is making headlines in this country and many others.
