“Law enforcement officers are everyday heroes and part of our community.  Fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, and our neighbors,” U.S. Attorney Byung J. “BJay” Pak said in a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice.  “They go to work every day with a passion to serve others and to protect us.  Few can truly appreciate the rigors of working in law enforcement.  In addition, many of them serve the communities in which they grew up because they love where they are from, and see it as an honor and duty to give back. They are one of us.  Please join us in thanking them for their dedication, and service.”
