The competition was for High School seniors in the A-3A division. To compete, each Cheerleader had to apply and be picked for the top 30.

Once they secured a top 30 spot, the cheerleaders were asked to travel to the University of Columbus in Columbus, Georgia. Upon arriving in Columbus, each athlete had to perform their floor routine and was officially interviewed by the judging staff.

Skeleton showed off her talent at the competition and did an amazing job on her floor routine! While competing, she learned so much about the sport of cheer and met terrific high school athletes from all over Georgia. “I had so much fun competing at the Cheerleader of the Year competition, and it was such a great experience,” Skelton said.

Trion High School cheer team and coaches were thrilled to be represented by Josie. Teammate, Abby Rowe said, “I’m so proud of Josie! I can’t wait to see the great things she will do throughout her senior cheer season!”
