On October 1, the Lady Bulldogs Softball Team hosted Mount Zion High School in a regional match-up. The game was an amazing performance from Trion, run-ruling Mount Zion in the bottom of the fourth inning with a final score of 12-0.
Riley Manscill had a great game! The left-handed hitter had a fantastic eye at the plate, drawing three walks throughout the game. In the third inning, the Bulldogs showed out and scored eight runs! Freshman Averie Gable started off the inning, hitting a single and bringing in two runners! Neveah Lowe, Manscill, and Addison Hegwood-Anderson also singled and brought a run in.
Trion first got on the board in the first inning after Hegwood-Anderson drew a walk, scoring a run. In the second inning Mancsill stole home making the score 2-0.
Pitcher Addison Wilson earned the Bulldog victory from the mound! Wilson allowed two hits and zero runs throughout the game’s four innings. The right-handed pitcher struck two out and walked none.
Overall, the team had patience at the plate, totaling nine walks for the game.
With the victory, the Lady Bulldogs clinched home field for the first round of the playoffs.
The next game for the Trion Lady Bulldogs is a game against Haralson County on Thursday, October 3! Way to go, Bulldogs. Keep up the hard work.
