It has been 21 years since Dade County and Trion last played varsity football. The previous match up was on September 15, 1995. In 1995, the Bulldogs left Dade County with a 13-6 victory. Since 1956, the high school in Trenton only defeated the Trion Bulldogs three times (1970, 1976, and 1977).
Trion put touchdowns on the scoreboard in all four quarters last Friday night. #7 Jarrett Pierce scored two touchdowns for the Bulldogs during the first quarter. The first touchdown was a 44-yard pass from #5 Jarret Gill to #7 Jarrett Pierce. The offensive line protected the quarterback and Jarret Gill found Jarrett Pierce on the third play of the drive. #74 Elder Morales had another perfect night breaking the upright with five successful extra point kicks. #7 Jarrett Pierce’s second touchdown was a 13-yard run with 8:03 left on the clock in the first quarter.
The Bulldogs continued to crush the Wolverines in the air and on the ground as the second quarter played out under the lights of Sam R. McCain Stadium. The third touchdown was #33 Logan Blevins’ seven- yard run with 5:25 left in the second quarter. #7 Jarrett Pierce topped off the first half with his third touchdown run for 26-yards just before halftime. The Bulldogs trotted into the field house at halftime with a 28-0 lead.
The final two Trion touchdowns in the second half were from #14 Evan Walker on a fumble recovery. Evan Walker played an outstanding game.
