Trion Bulldogs Secure Ninth Consecutive Victory at 1A Area 7 Duals!

On Monday, January 13, 2025, Trion High School’s Wrestling team hosted the 1A Area 7 duals. The Bulldogs earned two big wins over Gordon Lee and Model, making the ninth consecutive win in area duals.

The first round kicked off as a win for Trion, beating Model 64-13. In the 106 weight class, Sammy Edgeworth won 14-2; in 102, Lane Broome won by pin; in 126, Silas Mills won by pin. Jason Jenkins (132) and Brandon Chandler (190) won by forfeit. Coleman Lee (150), Curt Hambright (157), Clayton Loughridge (165), and Lane Harris (215) all won by pins!

Moving on to Gordon Lee in the championship, the Dog’s spirit was high! Edgeworth set the mood for the round when he won by forfeit. Mills, Wylan Ledford (144), Lee, Hambright, Chandler, and Harris all secured wins by pins. Jenkins won by tech fall, and Loughridge won 9-0!

Trion will continue the spectacular season at 1A State Duals on Friday, January 17, and Saturday, January 18!

The State Duals will be held at Heard County.
