Trion advances all 13 wrestlers to Sectionals

Trion High School wrestlers competed in the Area 3 Single A tournament at Landmark Christian School this Saturday.  Trion took 13 wrestlers to the Area tournament and all 13 will advance to Sectionals. Trion as a team placed 2nd overall, 6 points behind Mt. Zion.

Wrestling Coach Eric Brock said he “was pleased with the effort, the boys will have to be more focused this weekend as the competition gets tougher”.

This weekend the wrestlers will compete in the Sectionals Tournament at Mt. Zion. Coach Brock commented that he “hopes to get everyone through to the next round, giving them a chance to stand on the podium at State.” The top four placers in each weight class at the sectional tournament will move on the the State Tournament. The GHSA Traditional Wrestling State Tournament presented by Georgia Army National Guard will be held on Feb. 11-13 at the Infinite Energy Arena in Duluth.

Trion High School will recognize Senior Wrestlers this Friday at 6 pm before the basketball game.
