The Hickory Crawdads got all of their runs Saturday off starting pitcher Oriel Caicedo who gave up six runs on seven hits in three official innings of work. Caicedo didn’t walk any batters, striking out two in Rome’s 7-6 win.
Jones, O’Flaherty, and Clouse kept the game manageable with a combined six innings of scoreless relief. Corbin Clouse was the winning pitcher of record, picking up his first win with Rome.
On the offensive side, Carlos Castro‘s bat stayed hot with his 11th homer of the year. He went two-for-three with a run, two RBIs. Ray-Patrick Didder went three-for-four with two runs, and Darien McLemore had a three-for-four game with two runs of his own. Tyler Neslony, and Alejandro Salazar also had a run each.
