The girls CHS basketball team has been playing hard and setting records this season! The Lady Indians have an overall record of 21-5.
In the history of CHS girls’ basketball, there have only been three times that a team has won over 21 games; two out of those three have been under the guidance of Alvah Beasley.
When asked about the Region tournament, Beasley said, “I am super excited for tonight and hope to advance to the semi-finals to play in the region championship tomorrow. I like our chances of winning as long as we play a fast-paced game.”
Multiple All-Region Players were selected this season from the Indians team. Those players include Junior Addie Veatch, sophomore Daysa Martin, and Freshmen Gracelyn Rutledge and Briana Finley.
Gracelyn Rutledge stated, “I am very excited to have been selected as an All-Region Representative. I am incredibly grateful to Sydney Evans for helping me gain confidence. She was always there to cheer me on, and that definitely played a part in how much I have grown as a player and person.”
Last night the girls played Coosa High School and beat them 60-14. With the huge win, the lady Indians prepare to face off against the Armuchee Indians.
The last time they played the Armuchee Indians, they lost 35-43, but we can expect them to play harder than ever in this rematch against Armuchee. Good luck to the lady Indians, and we expect to see great things from them during this tournament.
