The 2016 Trion High School Softball Lady Dogs took out Darlington with help from Shelby Carlock with a score of 5-0. Carlock went 2-2 over seven innings on Tuesday. Whitney Shepherd kept the Tigers off the scoreboard for the seven innings she was on the mound. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs and striking out four. “Whitney has really been progressing and working at getting better each time out. The Lady Dogs went up for good in the fifth, scoring four runs on a two-run double by Shelby Carlock and a sacrifice fly by Graci Burns. “The team as a whole did a great job of situational hitting in the 5th to produce a big four run inning,” said Lanham.
The Lady Dogs are currently 4-0 and play today at Excel Christian Academy.
