After tying a school record 8 PAT kicks in a single game, junior CJ Martin put another notch in his recruiting resume by setting the Chattooga record for longest field goal with his 46-yard 2nd quarter field goal against Pepperell. Until last night Chattooga’s longest field goal was 38 yards.
The thundering leg of 6’2″ 210 lb Martin has turned recruiters heads in spite of only one summer of formal kicking camps. When asked how it felt to be in the record books Martin commented he was “very humbled, honored, and blessed to be apart of school history, and to have such great teammates and coaching staff, and I’m really looking forward to next week.” The Indians will be playing in the first round of playoffs next week. Chattooga will be traveling to play the number 2 team from Region 5AA.
