Rome starter Max Fried pitched six strong innings Wednesday night at Kannapolis, giving up no runs on two hits, striking out nine. The bullpen carried the shutout through nine, as the Braves beat the Intimidators 4-0.
Carlos Castro had all four Braves RBI’s, including a second inning homer, his eighth of the season.
The win was Rome’s fifth of its last seven, leaving the Braves tied for first place in the South Atlantic League’s South Division standings, tied with Augusta.
