At the 39th Northwest Georgia Tip-Off banquet, several Chattooga basketball players were recognized for their outstanding performances this season.
Dan Meyer was named Chattooga Boys Player of the Year and also earned the Atrium Health Comeback Player of the Year award. In an unusual situation, Meyer was part of a three-way tie for Overall Player of the Year, but due to a mix-up, he was not recognized at the banquet. However, he will still receive the plaque and title he rightfully earned.
Other Chattooga players recognized include:
- Quarry Gibson – December Player of the Month
- DJ Etchison – January Player of the Month
- Chattooga Boys Team – January Team of the Month
Head Coach Justin Gentry praised the team’s dedication and leadership. “I am very proud of our team and these young men in particular. They have worked hard since last year to achieve the honors they have received. It’s bittersweet knowing the senior group will move on, but they have left a winning legacy that will continue for years to come thanks to their leadership and drive.”
