Lexington’s Gerson Garabito didn’t give up his first hit until the seventh inning, throwing a gem against Rome in a Legends 9-1 victory Thursday night.
Rome’s Touki Toussaint had a story of his own, striking out 11 batters in only four innings of work, but left the game down 5-0. He gave up five runs – four earned – on three hits. One of three hits in the first inning was a homer, and Toussaint didn’t give up another hit in the next three innings, but did walk four batters.
Tyler Neslony broke up the no hitter with a seventh inning hit, and Ray-Patrick Didder drove in a run on a hit in the eight inning to do away with the shutout. Rome’s only other hit came from Lucas Herbert who was the Braves only run in the game.
