Chattooga Star Student and Teacher Announced

Congratulations to this year’s CHS STAR student, Jayla Rich. Jayla has been first in the top ten since her freshman year and she plans to go to Georgia Technical college to study neuroscience and obtain a minor in astrophysics.

Jayla chose her STAR teacher to be Mrs. Stephanie Ratliff. Ratliff is the computer science instructor and CHS Tennis Coach. She said that “It was such an honor to be selected as STAR teacher. I was so surprised, not that Jayla is the STAR student, but that she picked me!  We have such an amazing Tribe of fantastic teachers but I am very thankful she chose me. It’s been amazing watching her grow into the successful person that she is. I am so excited to see where Jayla goes from here!”

When asked about being chosen as star student Jayla replied with “Being chosen as the Star Student for CHS was an incredible honor, and I am very thankful for the opportunity to represent our tribe.”
