Superintendent Hosmer’s email is below:

“I would like to take this opportunity to share with you that I will be retiring as your Superintendent at the end of this school year on June 30, 2024. Throughout my career, Chattooga County and our school system has been at the center of my and my family’s life. I consider it the utmost honor to have been directly involved in the growth and accomplishments of our community, especially our teachers, leaders, and students.

My decision to retire is bittersweet as I love this school system and love what I do. To best explain my decision, I will use the words of Mr. Fred Rogers, “Often when you think you’re at the end of something, you’re at the beginning of something else.” It is with great pride that I can say the Chattooga County School System is ready for the next chapter. While serving as Superintendent for the last five years, I have been fortunate enough to lead a school district that, in the midst of some of the greatest challenges faced in the last two decades, continued to persevere and focus on the education of the students in our community.

I feel incredibly lucky to have been involved with this school system as a student, a parent, a teacher, an administrator, an Assistant Superintendent, and your Superintendent. I am proud of the shared legacy of our strive for instructional improvement and the capital improvement projects that reflect this district’s pride in its students. You can see the outcome of the time and effort that has been put into supporting our students through the accolades so many of them have received in all areas over the years. I want to thank everyone who has helped me work toward a better Chattooga Indian Tribe. This includes every employee of the system along with our community. I appreciate each of you and look forward to seeing even greater success for our school system in the future.

Thank you again for all the support.”
