The Town of Trion and the Trion Police Department are happy to announce that their campaign to get all Trion City school students to buckle up is moving forward with great success. A recent survey conducted by the school resource officer showed that over 80% of students driving on campus were wearing their seatbelt. This is a significant increase from when the program began. As a reward and to show our appreciation The Town of Trion and The Trion Police Department will be feeding the students breakfast on the morning of January 30, 2023.
This program was spearheaded by Mayor Lanny Thomas who is thankful so many students are being safety conscious, however the program is not a total success just yet. The goal of the program is to have ALL of our students in seatbelts. Once the students obtain 100% participation, they will be rewarded with a pizza lunch.
We would also like to thank the administration of Trion high school for their cooperation and making all necessary announcements. The town and school have put forth much effort through this program in keeping our students as safe as we possibly can.
