Georgia Native Corey Curtis Rises to National Fame as ‘Team Chance’ Pick on The Voice

Corey Curtis recently made national headlines as he secured a spot on Team Chance during a recent NBC reality TV show. However, his journey to musical prominence started long ago, with local talent show victories dating back to his middle school years.

At just 22, Curtis impressed the judges and viewers with his rendition of John Mayer’s “Waiting on the World to Change,” prompting immediate praise from Chance the Rapper within 17 seconds of his performance. The Voice also aired a video from Summerville, Georgia, Curtis’s hometown.

Curtis’s musical journey began at an early age when he taught himself to play drums at church. He eventually joined “The Young Disciples,” a Christian band formed with his brothers. His musical prowess extended to mastering the guitar, piano, and ukulele.

Curtis graduated from Chattooga High School in 2019. He performed at graduation and followed his dreams of music, catapulting onto the national stage.
