TRION: Offices up for grabs include mayor, three city council seats and three school board seats

The Town of Trion has released information regarding the upcoming municipal elections that will be held in November.  Offices up for grabs include mayor, three city council seats and three school board seats.  You can see all the details on qualifying below:

Please be advised that a Municipal Election for the Town of Trion will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. The offices to be filled are: Mayor, City Council Seat 1, City Council Seat 2, City Council Seat 3, School Board Seat 1, School Board Seat 2, and School Board Seat 3. Each of said offices shall have a four (4) year term.

The qualifying dates for said offices will be Monday, August 16, 2021 through Friday, August 20, 2021 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The office will be closed for qualifying between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. for lunch.

The qualifying fees for Council Seats and School Board Seats are $36.00. The qualifying fee for Mayor is $216.00. The fee shall be paid to the Municipal Election Superintendent or appointed parties thereof at the time of qualifying. Each person wishing to qualify shall file a Notice of Candidacy and the appropriate affidavits as set forth by the Municipal Ordinance and as provided by O.C.G.A. 21-2-132.
