Tractor Supply is coming to Chattooga County. Founded in 1938 as a mail order company focusing on agriculture and based out of Nashville, TN. Tractor Supply opened their first retail store the following year in Minot, ND and now operate a chain of nearly 1,500 stores across the country and report revenues of over 1.5 billion dollars.
Building Superintendent, Kenny Brown, of W.R. Newman informed All On Georgia that his contracting company builds several Tractor Supply stores per year and can construct a new building in as little as 90 days. They are currently 60 days into the building process of Summerville’s store and, while the building itself will be completed before then, they have scheduled the fixture & inventory install for early March 2017. He anticipates a grand opening within three weeks from March 6th. Brown said that there are currently 30 men working on the construction crew from all across the region to erect the 150’ x 126’ steel structure that will become Tractor Supply’s newest home. The parking lot and entrance ways are taking shape as well as the building itself.
Tractor Supply corporate headquarters indicate that a typical store employs between 6 and 15 people and hiring details for the Summerville store will be released in the coming weeks.
