
The City of Summerville invites everyone to come out and enjoy a beloved community tradition at the annual Independence Day Celebration on Thursday, July 3, at the Chattooga County Ag Center located at 33 Middle School Road. This long-running family event is known for being one of the best fireworks shows in northwest Georgia and offers an evening full of fun, food, and festivities for all ages.
Festivities begin at 6:00 PM with a variety of activities for children and families. A free Kids Zone will be available from 6:00 to 9:00 PM, featuring face painting, sack races, bounce houses, and water slides. Children dressed in patriotic attire are invited to participate in a special Patriotic Foot Parade at 7:15 PM.
Food vendors will be set up under the covered arena and ready to serve from 6:00 to 9:45 PM, offering a wide range of delicious options. Free watermelon slices will also be available while supplies last.
The Cornhole Tournament, a crowd favorite, will be held at the covered arena with team registration taking place from 6:00 to 6:30 PM. The cost is $20 per team, with cash prizes awarded to the first and second place winners.
Live music will kick off at 7:30 PM with a performance by The Whole Fam Damily. This talented group of siblings is known for their rich harmonies and nostalgic setlist, sure to entertain the crowd and get everyone singing along.
The evening will conclude with a spectacular fireworks show beginning at 10:00 PM. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and arrive early, as parking and seating are limited.
