Momon, formerly a jail officer with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office and an Anheuser-Busch employee, brings diverse experience to the role. She holds an EMT certification from Chattahoochee Technical College (2009), and a Jail Officer Certification from the North Central Georgia Law Enforcement Academy (2011).

Located off Red Oak Road in Summerville, the shelter will benefit from Momon’s plans for improvements, including facility upgrades and community outreach. “It will take time,” she said, “but I’d like volunteers to help care for the animals and find them homes.”

Commissioner Allen emphasized the county’s need for a strong advocate, expressing confidence in Momon’s passion and expertise. She aims to enhance shelter operations, address maintenance needs, and collaborate with local organizations to ensure each animal has the best chance at a better life.
