Trion High School grad Brody Malone returns from a knee injury to win his third U.S. Gymnastics championship. Following a year where he had three surgeries, Malone now has his sights set on Paris 2024.
Brody Malone (Aragon, Ga. /EVO Gymnastics) may have missed a year. Still, he didn’t miss a beat Saturday, winning his third career all-around title at the 2024 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships. The competition was held at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas from May 30–June 2, 2024
The 2021 and 2022 U.S. champion, Malone, missed 2023 with a catastrophic knee injury. On Saturday, he closed out his third-straight title in championships where he has competed, scoring 86.350 to finish with a two-day total of 172.300. Frederick Richard (Stoughton, Mass./University of Michigan) was second with 170.250 after scoring 85.900 on Day 2, and Khoi Young (Bowie, Md./Stanford University) moved up from fifth on Thursday to third on Saturday, scoring 86.150 to bring his two-day total to 169.550.
