Ms. Kassidy Kirby is the first annual 2016 recipient of the Mary Bullard Law Enforcement Memorial Scholarship. Kirby is a Class of 2016 Chattooga High School graduate. She has been accepted to Georgia Northwestern Technical College Law Enforcement Training Academy and will begin in August. This program will allow her to obtain, upon completion, certification as a Georgia Peace Officer. She will also obtain the majority of classes needed to complete her Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. The program runs about 22 weeks.
The Mary Bullard Law Enforcement Memorial Scholarship is awarded to one High School Graduate that wishes to pursue a career in the Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement career field. Mary “KK” Bullard was a career law enforcement officer in Chattooga County for many years and passed away two years ago from a sudden illness. The family chose to honor her memory and her love for law enforcement and teaching by funding this scholarship.
