Lady Indian Coach Alvah Beasley named Tuesday’s home contest “Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Night”.

Ella Hurley, a sophomore at CHS and a member of the basketball and softball teams, suffered a spinal cord injury in a car accident in July.

Before tipoff, Coach Beasley introduced Hurley to the crowd and allowed her to shoot the first basket of the Lady Indians season.

Hurley traded in her crutches for the round ball and sunk the basket.

Chattooga Varsity defeated Armuchee 49-42. CHS JV lost 24-21.

Entry to the game was donations only and all proceeds went to Ella Hurley and her family.

Chattooga Basketball has announced a couple of updates to their schedule. The most significant change is that CHS varsity girls and varsity boys will now be traveling to Rockmart this Saturday to take on the Yellow Jackets.
