Hamilton County Jail Hosts Men of Valor & Tim Tebow Event

Hamilton County, TN – On February 24, 2025, former NFL quarterback and Christian philanthropist, Tim Tebow, visited the Hamilton County Jail & Detention Center to share an inspiring message of hope and transformation with inmates. Tebow, the 2007 Heisman Trophy Winner, delivered motivational remarks as part of a program organized by Men of Valor in partnership with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Silverdale Baptist Church, and the McKenzie Foundation.

The event featured music from the Silverdale Baptist Church Praise Team and uplifting testimonies from participants who shared personal stories of hope and perseverance, offering encouragement to inmates and providing them with a renewed sense of purpose.

Men of Valor is dedicated to providing discipleship and mentorship within the criminal justice system, supporting inmates in their spiritual growth. This initiative further strengthens the HCSO’s commitment to faith-based programming through our Chaplaincy Program, aiming to assist inmates who choose to participate in faith-based learning and spiritual growth.

The inmates who participated in yesterday’s program have voluntarily chosen to engage in various re-entry and chaplaincy-based initiatives offered by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office. These programs are available to those who wish to take part in their rehabilitation and personal growth. While space and security limitations prevented some from attending yesterday’s event in person, Mr. Tebow’s appearance and remarks will be made available for inmates who wish to watch and benefit from his message.

After the event, Mr. Tebow toured the Hamilton County Jail & Detention Center with Sheriff Austin Garrett and took the time to speak with inmates personally. The HCSO would like to thank Mr. Tebow, Silverdale Baptist Church, Men of Valor, and the McKenzie Foundation for making this inspirational event possible for the inmates at the Hamilton County Jail.
