Sheriff Schrader took the opportunity to thank all those who contributed to making the supply drive a success, emphasizing that it was a collective effort. He began by expressing his appreciation for the residents of Chattooga County, whose donations made the relief effort possible. He acknowledged the many people and businesses who contributed their time, equipment, and resources for transportation. These included:

Transport Teams: David Fletcher for providing a semi-truck, trailer, and driver; Justin and Jessi Rhinehart from Rhinehart Performance and Fabrication for their 44′ trailer and assistance in delivering supplies; U-Haul for donating two enclosed trailers for transport; and Sonny from Judy’s Herb for additional U-Haul trailers. John Sterner and the CERT team were also instrumental with their truck and trailer contributions.

Volunteers and Staff: Sheriff Schrader praised his staff, community volunteers, and his family for working tirelessly to receive, package, load, and deliver the donations. A special mention was given to Warden Jones and Hays State Prison, Chief Starkey, and the Hays State Prison Fire Department for helping unload, package, and load supplies alongside the inmate workers.

Community Members Offering Support: Sheriff Schrader also extended his thanks to all those who called in to offer trailers, trucks, and drivers, saying he had their information ready for any future supply runs that might be needed. The generosity from the community in offering equipment and time to help others was truly inspiring.

Sheriff Schrader concluded by stating that they are currently trying to get an updated list of needs from the North Carolina and Tennessee areas affected by the hurricane. Once they receive this information, they will share it with the community to continue providing the necessary support.

The incredible efforts of Chattooga County residents, local businesses, and volunteers stand as a testament to the strength and resilience of this community.

Sheriff Schrader’s message highlights the power of collective action and compassion in times of crisis.
