“Former GOP District Chair Denise Pierce Burns Launches Campaign for Georgia State Senate
RINGGOLD, GA — Denise Pierce Burns, a North Georgia mom, homesteader, and longtime Republican leader, today announced her candidacy for the Georgia State Senate. The race will be decided in a March 10, 2026 special election.
Burns enters the race as one of the most well-established conservative leaders in the district, with decades of involvement in grassroots organizing, policy advocacy, and party leadership across Catoosa and Walker counties. A Ringgold High School and Berry College graduate, Burns built a career in hospitality and business management, before stepping away to raise her family. She and her husband homeschooled their four children for 25 years.
Burns is widely recognized for her leadership within the Republican Party, having served as Chairman of the Georgia GOP’s 14th Congressional District. During her tenure, the district strengthened its grassroots infrastructure and increased voter participation across multiple election cycles. In addition to her party leadership, Burns has spent decades as a leading advocate for food freedom, medical freedom, and small farms.
“I’ve spent my life doing tough jobs: raising my kids, running a business, working the land, and standing up when government overreach threatened families like mine,” Burns said. “North Georgia needs a senator who’s ready to lead immediately, defend parents and public safety, and keep this seat accountable to the people it serves.”
