Qualifying Dates Announced for Town of Trion’s 2025 Municipal Election

The Town of Trion has officially announced qualifying dates and details for the upcoming municipal general election, which will take place on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
Voters will head to the polls at the Trion Recreation Department from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. to cast their ballots for key positions, including mayor, town council seats, and school board seats.

Qualifying for candidates will be held at Trion Town Hall, 1220 Pine Street, beginning Wednesday, August 20, and closing Friday, August 22, 2025, during posted hours.

QUALIFYING FOR THE TOWN OF TRION MUNICIPAL ELECTION
Notice is hereby given that, in accordance with O.C.G.A. 21-2-132 and O.C.G.A. 21-2- 9(b) a Municipal General Election for the Town of Trion will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the Trion Recreation Department located at 90 Dalton Street, Trion Georgia from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Qualifying for the municipal general election shall be held at the Town of Trion Town Hall located at 1220 Pine Street, Trion, Georgia, beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, and ending at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025. The hours of qualifying each day will be from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. The office will be closed for qualification between the hours of 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. for lunch.

Those positions that are up for election are:Mayor – Incumbent, Lanny E. Thomas – Qualifying Fee $434.00
Council Seat #1 – Incumbent, Jeff “Fro” Wilson – Qualifying Fee $86.00
Council Seat #2 – Incumbent, Becky McWhorter – Qualifying Fee $86.00
Council Seat #3 – Incumbent, Mickey McGraw – Qualifying Fee $86.00
School Board Seat #1 – Incumbent, Darriel Broome – Qualifying Fee $87.00
School Board Seat #2 – Incumbent, Johnny Brimer – Qualifying Fee $87.00
School Board Seat #3 – Incumbent, B. Randall Henderson Jr. – Qualifying Fee $87.00

Each of said offices shall have a four (4) year term.

Early voting will begin on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, and will end on Friday, October 31, 2025. Office hours are Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. We will have early voting on Saturday, October 18, 2025, and Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. in the Town of Trion Town Hall located at 1220 Pine Street, Trion, Georgia.

The last day to register to vote for the municipal general election is Monday, October 6, 2025. Registration is available at the Chattooga County Registrar’s Office, or other locations as required by Georgia Law.
