Investigation Launched Into Unlawful Chicken House Permit in Gore Community

According to a press release from Sole Commissioner Andy Allen, residents are expressing concerns over the previous administration granting an unlawful permit to construct four chicken houses in the Gore community. This action violated the Chattooga County Poultry Ordinance. 

The current County Commissioner has opened an investigation into the issuance of unlawful permit. Legal Counsel is being consulted to determine the best course of action to rectify the situation and prevent similar occurrences in the future.

We will work tirelessly to correct past mistakes and protect our residents’ interests.” Commissioner Allen’s commitment to transparency and responsible governance is a crucial step toward restoring trust and ensuring the well-being of all residents. 

The Commissioner will hold a public meeting at The Chattooga County Agricultural Pavilion located at 33 Middle School Rd. in Summerville on January 27, 2025, at 6 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to attend.
