Democrats Announce Qualifying Dates for Chattooga Board of Education Races

Anyone wishing to run for the Chattooga County Board of Education as a Democrat must register as a candidate during the March 2-6 th qualifying period. The following
seats will be on the ballot: Seat #2 (Trion outside of the City of Trion), Seat #3 (Menlo and surrounding areas) and Seat #4 (Lyerly and southern side of the county).

Qualified candidates must fill out a “Declaration of Candidacy and Affidavit” found on the Georgia Secretary of State’s website. The Chattooga can also provide this form
County Democratic Party on request.

The cost to qualify is $50.

Candidates can either qualify by coming to the Chattooga County Library in Summerville on March 2nd from 2-4 pm or on March 5 th from 2-4 pm. If a candidate would

The qualifying period runs from 9 am on March 2nd to 12noon on March 6th .

The general election will take place on November 3, 2026.
