Camden County Receives Grant for Interns

One intern will work for the Camden County Board of Commissioners in Administration and one will work for the Board of Elections & Registration.

The Camden County Board of Commissioners is pleased to announce that it is a recipient of Georgia County Internship Program (GCIP) funds from the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG).

The $4,015.20 grant will assist in funding two interns for summer 2020. One intern will work for the Camden County Board of Commissioners in Administration and one will work for the Board of Elections & Registration.

“We are thrilled to partner with ACCG and the ACCG Civic Affairs Foundation once again to receive this grant,” said Camden County Grants Manager Julie Haigler. “Not only will these interns gain valuable job experience, but Camden County residents will also benefit from their work.”

The GCIP offers internship experiences to undergraduate and graduate level college students in county government offices throughout the state. Since its creation in 2010, over 425 students have filled internship positions in 75 counties throughout the state through this program.

This is the fifth consecutive year that Camden County has received this funding. Undergraduate and graduate level college students are encouraged to apply. Specific information, including job descriptions and how to apply, are available on the Camden County website, http://www.camdencountyga.gov/jobs.
