“Students enrolling in the EVP TCC will not only have the opportunity to interview with HMGMA, but the skills that they learn are applicable to several facets of electric vehicle production,” said Zdunich. “It’s a pleasure to see how eager these students are to get their foot in the door and work toward a career with our company.”

For about two hours, students had the opportunity to hear about HMGMA from Zdunich and ask questions about work opportunities, benefits, health and wellness, and more. He explained how HMGMA focuses on the little details, like installing skylights in their General Assembly building to allow natural light to elevate the work atmosphere.

“Having Jason visit our class and discuss the benefits of working for HMGMA was a big eye-opener for our students. For many of them I think this was the first time they’ve considered that this is more than just a job, it’s a career opportunity,” said Allen McDaniel, EVP TCC instructor.

The inaugural cohort of the EVP TCC at OTC has 13 students. Enrollment for the 2nd cohort is open now, and classes for the 8-week certificate will begin May 13, 2024. The EVP TCC focuses on safe and effective automotive shop operations, automotive electrical principles and the operation and service of electric vehicles.
