Bulloch County Schools will administer the annual Georgia School Climate Survey for Students this winter. The survey asks students in Grades 3 to 12 to share their honest feelings about their school and personal challenges they may face. Parents have until November 21, at 3:30 p.m. to opt their child out of participating in the survey.
Formerly known as the Georgia Student Health Survey, schools will set a date during the survey window (Dec. 1 to March 1) for students to take the survey online. It will ask age-appropriate questions about topics such as How good the teaching and learning are; How supportive the school environment is; How often problems like bullying happen, and more. The survey takes about 15 to 20 minutes to finish. It poses 27 questions for Grades 3 to 5 and 73 questions for Grades 6 to 12.
Every student’s response is private and anonymous. Names cannot be linked to the answers, and students can skip any question they do not want to answer. The answers go straight to the Georgia Department of Education. School leaders will use the combined survey results to set goals for health, safety, and drug and alcohol prevention programs.
Parents can review the survey questions and see results from previous years on the school system’s website. Review survey information or obtain an opt-out form at bullochschools.org/survey. The signed form must be returned to the school by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21.
