Reminder from Bulloch County Schools on free & reduced-price meals and how to apply:

If you’ve not completed a 2022 Free & Reduced-Price Meal Application for your family, the time to possibly receive benefits is running out.

Any eligible families without a completed, approved application on file will have to pay full-price for meals after September 13.  School lunches are $2.25 daily for elementary and $250 per day for middle and high schools.

The school district estimates that nearly 800 families who qualified for benefits in previous years have yet to complete an application for this school year.  Families who believe they are eligible should complete an application online. A paper form is also attached below, and the school district mailed paper applications to all families of enrolled students on July 7.

If you have already completed an application, you do not need to complete another application unless your household income or household situation has changed. Families only have to complete one application per household, and not an application for each child.

If you do not believe your family is eligible for benefits, you do not have to submit an application. Also, families with children at Langston Chapel Elementary School or Langston Chapel Middle School do not have to fill out an application unless they have children that attend other schools.

Breakfast is free for all children enrolled in Bulloch County Schools, but families need to complete a Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application to see if they will qualify for lunch cost benefits for the new school year. All children have received free meals for the past two years regardless of income thanks to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s extension of its feeding programs during the COVID-19 global pandemic. That federal assistance has now ended.
