The Bulloch County Board of Education and Bulloch County Schools hosted a retirement program on November 10, in the Statesboro High School Auditorium to honor 34 retirees who retired from the school district during its 2019-2020 school year. These dedicated educators and support professionals devoted a combined total of 853 years of service. During the program they were recognized publicly by Board of Education Chairman Mike Sparks, Superintendent of Schools Charles Wilson, and their supervising principals or directors with words of praise and recollections of memorable moments of their impact on the lives of children in Bulloch County.
“Bulloch County is a great school system because of teachers and staff like these,” said Stephen Hoyle, principal of Southeast Bulloch High School, whose school had three retirees for Fiscal Year 2020.
The school district’s traditional retiree banquet, held each May, was cancelled this year due to public health concerns during the COVID-19 global pandemic. This socially distanced program was planned in its place. Please join the school district in thanking these retirees for their service to our community.
