Richard Adams, of Sylvania, was recently arrested on charges involving vehicle thefts and others. Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office K9 Deputies and Crime Suppression Team Investigators conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by Adams, which led to an investigation. The investigation revealed numerous unlawful weapons, along with tools for the unlawful entry and theft of motor vehicles, and a distribution amount of cocaine. Investigators then found evidence of Adams committing motor vehicle thefts in several other jurisdictions. Adams was arrested and taken to the Bulloch County Jail on charges of Criminal Use of an Article with Altered ID Mark, Possession of Tools for Commission of a Crime, Cocaine(Possession with Intent), Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property(Felony), and Unlawful possession of firearms(machine gun).

On 02/21/2024 K9 Deputies and Crime Suppression Team Investigators conducted a traffic stop in Statesboro, GA on a vehicle being operated by Richard Adams of Sylvania, GA for a traffic offense. An investigation began and revealed that Adams possessed numerous unlawful weapons along with tools for the unlawful entry and theft of motor vehicles. Adams was also found to be in possession of a distribution amount of cocaine.
As the investigation continued, investigators found evidence of Adams committing motor vehicle thefts in numerous other jurisdictions. BCSO is working with investigators at those agencies to assist with their motor vehicle theft investigations.
Adams was arrested and taken to the Bulloch County Jail. Adams was charged with the following offenses:
– Criminal Use of an Article with Altered ID Mark
– Possession of Tools for Commission of a Crime
– Cocaine – Possession with Intent
– Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects
– Theft by Receiving Stolen Property – Felony
– Unlawful possession of firearms (machine gun)
