Statesboro Police Dept Investigating Success Court Homicide

UPDATE 12/01/2023: Warrants have been issued in this investigation.
Detectives investigating the 11/30/23 murder of Antawan Strickland on Success Court have issued arrest warrants for the suspect. Anthony Jermail Johnson (19, Statesboro) has active warrants for Murder and Aggravated Assault. He is 5’06″, 125 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. Johnson’s family is aware of his warrants and has been asked to facilitate his surrender.

Statesboro Police Department detectives are investigating after a 39 year-old man was shot and killed in the area of Success Court yesterday afternoon. From SPD:

On 11/30/23 at 3:15 p.m. SPD officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Success Court for a shooting. The victim, Antawan Strickland (39, Johnson Street,Statesboro) was located in the driveway of a residence with multiple gunshot wounds and transported to East Georgia Regional Medical Center where he died from his wounds . The victim’s family has been notified of his death.

Detectives spent the evening processing the scene and following various leads . It is believed that the homicide was a witnessed event and detectives are as king for the public’s help in gathering information concerning the offender.
