Missing Elderly Man in Candler Found After Ground and Air Search

The Candler County Sheriff’s Office shares that after a search by agencies, including K9 teams, from several counties, an elderly man that was missing from Ollifftown Road has been found. The man was transported to the hospital by Candler County EMS.

On June 13, 2023, around 1500, the Candler County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Ollifftown Road in reference to a missing person. The missing person was described as an elderly man who had been seen a few hours earlier on his four wheeler. Surveyors had located his four wheeler stuck in a heavily wooded area. Sheriff Miles requested the assistance of K9 units and a helicopter. Within an hour of searching, the man was located and transported to the hospital by Candler County EMS.
