The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after an individual was discovered on the side of I-16 and later died. The Bulloch County 911 center received calls Monday evening about a person laying on the side of I-16 east bound. Deputies, Georgia State Patrol, Bulloch County EMS, Candler County EMS, and Bulloch County Fire all responded to the area and located the individual on the west bound side of I-16. Deputies, GSP, and Bulloch EMS rendered medical aid, but were unable to save him. He will be transported to the GBI crime lab for an autopsy. The suspect, Robert Brandon Lewis Keller, was located at the Patriot Inn on Hwy 301 South, and after a foot pursuit, was arrested.

The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office is actively working a HOMICIDE case that occurred yesterday (October 14, 2024) during the early evening hours. The Bulloch County 911 center received calls about a person laying on the side of I-16 around the Mile Marker 113, on the east bound side of the interstate. Deputies, Georgia State Patrol, Bulloch and Candler County EMS and Bulloch County Fire all responded to the area in attempts to locate the individual. Once the person was located, on the west bound side of I-16, Deputies, GSP, and Bulloch EMS rendered medical aid, but were unable to save the person’s life. The victim sustained multiple injuries on his torso, head, hands/arms and neck area. He will be transported to the GBI crime lab for autopsy. The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time until all immediate family can be notified. During the investigation the suspect in the HOMICIDE was located at the Patriot Inn off highway 301 South and I-16, in Bulloch County, Ga. After a short foot pursuit, Bulloch County S.O. deputies and investigators were able to apprehend the suspect and take him into custody. Through the use of the Rapid ID device, the suspect has been identified as ROBERT BRANDON LEWIS KELLER, 31 years old. It is unknown at this time of KELLER’S last known address.
