The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office is expanding the School Resource Officer Division with multiple K-9 units.
From BCSO:
The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office is pleased to announce the deployment of multiple K-9 units within the School Resource Officer (SRO) Division. This initiative underscores Sheriff Noel Brown’s continued commitment to enhancing the safety and security of Bulloch County schools.
Each K-9 team will consist of a highly trained K-9 and its handler, working in partnership to deter and detect dangerous or prohibited items on school campuses. These same skills extend beyond the school grounds to the broader community, allowing the K-9 units to assist in locating missing children, particularly those who are at-risk.
In addition to their operational duties, these K-9 units will serve as a valuable tool for community engagement, helping to strengthen relationships between students, families, and law enforcement personnel.
Sheriff Brown emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating:
“Our children truly are the future. They deserve a safe, loving place to learn and grow so they can become the best version of themselves. We owe them nothing less.”
Sheriff Brown further noted that the implementation of these resources comes at no added cost to the Bulloch County Schools.
