Official Swearing-In of Bulloch County Elected Officials

Watching from a packed Courthouse with standing room only, the citizens of Bulloch County witnessed the official oaths of office taken Thursday morning by the newly elected County and Ogeechee Judicial Circuit officers. Outgoing Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Chairman Garrett Nevil, was the master of ceremonies of the morning. Outgoing Probate Court Judge Lee DeLoach administered the oaths of office in the upstairs courtroom.
Here’s a list of the new officials who rendered their oath on Thursday, and are set to begin their terms of service come January 1, 2017:
  • Probate Judge-Elect Lorna DeLoach
  • Superior Court Judge-Elect Michael Muldrew
  • Bulloch State Court Solicitor-Elect Joseph Cushner
  • Bulloch County Sheriff-Elect Noel Brown
  • Bulloch County Board of Commissioners, Chairman-Elect Roy Thompson
  • Bulloch County Commissioner-Elect Curt Deal (Seat 2A)
  • Bulloch County Commissioner-Elect Jappy Stringer (Seat 2C)
  • BOE District 3, Member- Elect Stuart Tedders
  • BOE District 7, Member-Elect Heather Mims
Incumbent County officials that are set to begin new terms after winning their respective elections are as follows:
  • State Court Judge, Gary Mikell
  • Magistrate Court Judge, June Braswell
  • Clerk of Court, Heather Banks McNeal
  • Bulloch County Tax Commissioner, James Deal
  • Bulloch County  Commissioner (Seat 1-A), Ray Mosley
  • Bulloch County Coroner, Jake Futch
  • Bulloch County Surveyor, John Dotson
  • Bulloch County BOE Member- District 8, Maurice Hill
  • Bulloch County BOE Member- District 1, Cheri Wagner
