Summerville Rec selected NGYFL Jamboree Host

The Summerville Recreation Center was awarded the 2016 North Georgia Youth Football League Jamboree, this is the first time the Summerville Rec has been selected as the host site. Updates and renovations to the Chattooga High School facilities are a primary reason why Summerville was awarded the jamboree. The season will start one week earlier than normal this year in an attempt to complete the season prior to Thanksgiving. The Jamboree will be August 27th and the regular season will begin September 3rd.

The North Georgia Youth Football League currently serves as a three County league for Catoosa, Walker and Chattooga Counties in the Northwest Georgia area. The NGYFL has eight (8) members including Chattanooga Valley, Chickamauga, LaFayette, Lakeview-Ft. Oglethorpe, Ringgold, Rock Spring, Summerville and Trion. The league currently offers five divisions for league play- 5-6, 7U, 8U, 9U and 10-11 tackle divisions.

The Jamboree will be held Saturday, August 27 and with an anticipated 9 am start time based on last year’s schedule.

Summerville will be the host of all of the 8’s, 9’s and 10-11 age groups. Each team will play two quarters.

Admission will be $4 for adults and $2 for students. Kids under 5 will be free. All games will live streamed on All On Georgia.
