Habitat for Humanity-Coosa Valley assists low income families in Polk, Chattooga and Floyd counties. The program requires families to qualify based on a needs analysis. The families actually do purchase the homes with a 0% interest loan. Families must demonstrate a willingness to work and are required to put in 250 to 300 “sweat hours” working on their own home or someone else’s home.

Habitat for Humanity-Coosa Valley builds between 3-4 homes a year. The land the Shockley’s home will be built on was donated by Larry and Connie Howard.
