The Chattooga High School Marching Band traveled to Piedmont, Alabama Saturday to compete in the Chief Ladoga Marching Contest. There were over a dozen bands competing in the competition.
The Marching Indians performing an “Earth, Wind & Fire” routine celebrating hits by the famed 70s group, placing first in the categories of drum major, band, color guard and percussion section all receiving superior ratings. It was a great performance from all 73 members of the band and nine members of the flag corp.
In just her second competition, Drum Major Elisabeth Dawson earned her first superior ratings, Elisabeth said “going from a 2 (excellent) rating to a 1 was a big improvement.”
The Marching Indian Band has one remaining competition this season.
